Where is Pleasant Hill?
Pleasant Hill is a surburban city of about 32,000 people in California about 24 miles (39 kilometers) from San Francisco. It grew from farmland into a suburban community during World War II, with comfortable houses and parks but no real city center or downtown identity. In 2000, after over twenty years of discussion and planning,
Pleasant Hill celebrated the opening of its new Downtown: a giant cinema,
bookstore, supermarket, department store, hotels, townhouses, restaurants,
and many other stores (totalling 353,000 square feet of commercial property).
Pleasant Hill has made its vision and dream a reality.
