Where is Merzifon?
Merzifon is a rural city of about 44,000 people in north central Turkey on the Corum-Samsum and Istanbul highway. It stands in contrast to Istanbul the same way that Pleasant Hill stands in contrast to San Francisco. A visitor to Merzifon will welcome the slower pace, the
friendliness of the people, and the wonderful regional cooking - all at
prices that would surprise most Westerners. Merzifon is the perfect stop
between the high profile cities of Anakara or Istanbul and the Black Sea
area, Cappadocia, or eastern Turkey.
