Merzifon's Mayor Dies in Accident

On the weekend of July 15th, 2006, the Mayor of Merzifon, Hayati Incekul, died in a tragic car accident. Akif Gulle, an AKP Member of Parliament from Merzifon, was in the same car and was badly injured. They were returning from a ceremony in a nearby town attended by Prime Minister Erdogan.

Hayati Incekul leaves behind a wife and two young children, both of whom attended our Summer English Program in 2004. We offer our deep sympathies to the family and the people of Merzifon.
