Official Turkish Delegation – 2003

On the evening of December 26, 2003, a delegation of eight people arrived from Merzifon, the first formal visit by officials from our sister city. They visited not only Pleasant Hill but toured parts of the Bay Area and left for home on January 4, 2004.

The visitors included:

Cahit Toprak

Mayor of Merzifon, and his wife, Melek.

Adnan Ucas

Former member of the Turkish Parliament, and his wife, Yelda.

Keriman Topal

Chair of the Merzifon Disabled and Handicapped Assistance League, and her husband, Tayyar.

Fadime Ozen

Head of the English Department at Anadolu High School (acting as translator) and her husband, Bulent.
